All entries are due by June 25, 2010. Award winners will be announced at the 2010 ESRI International User Conference.
The 2010 Wireless GIS on BlackBerry Awards Categories Winners and finalists are chosen by a Selection Committee in each the following categories:
- Best application for private/commercial sector
- Best application for public/government sector
- Best application for field services organization
- BlackBerry Beacon for innovative Freeance View applications
Winners of the categories for private/commercial sector, public/government and field services organizations will be selected on the criteria of most productive and innovative use of GIS on the BlackBerry platform. Applications may be in the implementation or full production stage. Applications must be deployed using BlackBerry smartphones, Freeance Mobile and ESRI ArcGIS® Server or ArcIMS® software. The award for the winner in each of these categories will be a Flip Video Camcorder and BlackBerry accessories.
BlackBerry Beacon Award Category
A fourth category is open to organizations who want to launch GIS on BlackBerry smartphones but have not yet done so. Judging for this category will be based on an organization's planned use of Freeance Mobile software on BlackBerry smartphones and ESRI ArcGIS Server software. You may submit an entry for the BlackBerry Beacon Award even if you have not implemented BlackBerry smartphones or Freeance Mobile software. Entries will be judged on innovation and projected outcomes for increased productivity, public safety, or enhanced community service.
The award for winning this category is one server license of Freeance Mobile Pro valued at $9,995/$14,995 and plus up to $5,000 in implementation services.
Entries in the BlackBerry Beacon category must include existing conditions, planned application with proposed dataflow and network design. Projected efficiencies, increased productivity, cost savings and other benefits must be documented.
Freeance Mobile 3.0 for ArcGIS Server 10 will be on display in the BlackBerry booth at the 2010 ESRI International User Conference in San Diego.
